Mayor Allen seeks third term
Candon City Mayor Allen Singson is seeking for his third term after he led his administration line up in filing their respective certificate of candidacies recently.
Singson, 40, eldest son of Deputy Speaker Eric Singson and former Congresswoman Grace, is teaming up with top city councilor and currently the President of the Philippine Councilors’ League- Ilocos Sur Chapter President Alfonso Singson.
Leading the administration’s councilors’ slate is three-termer City Vice Mayor Nestor Itchon.
The other aspirants are incumbent councilors Rhodana Abrero, Oseas Diasen, George Valdez and Fredelino Balagot, Jr.
Completing the slate are San Isidro Punong Barangay Kristelle Singson, Albert Abaya, Dr. Charina Bona, Engr. Florendo Mangasar and lawyer Marvin Tibangwa.
“I am seeking my third term because i wanted to continue my current programs and projects for the betterment of the city,” City Mayor Singson said.
Singson said that he is optimistic that his complete slate will all make it in the upcoming polls.
“We have a very competent and all very deserving candidates in our line up,” Singson said.
Singson started his political career as Kabataan Barangay Chairman.
He eventually got elected as councilor and Vice Mayor.
He was the City administrator before he became the Local Chief Exectuive in 2004.
Singson is known of his hard work, soft spoken and dedication to his post.
He had led the city to its current standing.
Among his achievements are leading the city in bagging the prestigious Best Performer Local Government Unit ( city level) and Model City, both on the regional level.
